But there are so many unhealthy restaurants, foods, and options that I'd rather avoid.

So I built a chrome extension to block all of the unwanted crap.

How do I block things?

First, install the free Internet Diet chrome extension.

Next, pin the chrome extension to your toolbar.

Now, whenever you want to block an item on a page, just click the Internet Diet extension, select “Block a link on this page”, select the item you want to block, and it’ll then be hidden for good no matter what that item shows up on the site.

How do I undo blocking something?

If you accidentally block something or change your mind, it’s easy to undo it.

Right click on the Internet Diet extension icon and select “Options”. This will bring you to a page that lists all of your block rules.

You can enter a search query to filter the block rules to find the one you’re looking for. Then just click “Remove rule” and that item will no longer be blocked.

How do I temporarily stop blocking?

Click the Internet Diet extension icon and select “Pause blocking”. This will stop blocking globally on all sites.

Once you’re ready to re-enable blocking, click the Internet Diet extension icon and select “Resume blocking”.

What keyboard shortcuts are there?

CMD + Shift + , to select a new item to block on the current page

(Control + Shift + , on Windows)

CMD + Shift + . to toggle blocking on / off globally

(Control + Shift + . on Windows)

What can you block?

restaurants

menu items

grocery items

specific URLs

entire websites

When blocking individual restaurants and menu items, they will be blurred out on the page so you can be sure it's working without being tempted by them.
